Auction result misses estimated price range
In September 2010 a collector was able to acquire the work A Winter'S Afternoon by George Herbert McCord for USD 2,500.00 (€ 1,838.10). This price was achieved in the auction American Paintings, Drawings & Sculpture at Sothebys in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 3,000.00 – 5,000.00 set by the auction house. Admittedly, works by George Herbert McCord have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Along the Lakeshore at Dusk in March 2003 with an auction result of USD 14,340.00 (€ 13,155.96).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im September 2010 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit A Winter'S Afternoon von George Herbert McCord für USD 2.500,00 (€ 1.838,10) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion American Paintings, Drawings & Sculpture bei Sothebys in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 3.000,00 – 5.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von George Herbert McCord auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Along the Lakeshore at Dusk im März 2003 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 14.340,00 (€ 13.155,96).
