Auction result well in line with expectations
In June 2021 Sothebys in Hong Kong held the auction Modern Art Online: From Zao Wou-Ki to Le Pho, which included the work Untitled (Portrait of a Woman) by George Chann. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of HKD 10,000.00 – 20,000.00, the actual price achieved of HKD 11,340.00 (€ 1,231.82) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by George Chann achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A Peach Blossom Garden in April 2017 with an auction result of HKD 4,130,000.00 (€ 487,487.84).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juni 2021 führte Sothebys in Hong Kong die Auktion Modern Art Online: From Zao Wou-Ki to Le Pho durch, in der auch die Arbeit Untitled (Portrait of a Woman) von George Chann zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von HKD 10.000,00 – 20.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von HKD 11.340,00 (€ 1.231,82) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von George Chann erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit A Peach Blossom Garden im April 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 4.130.000,00 (€ 487.487,84).
