Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Hong Kong Landscape by George Chann was auctioned at Bonhams in Hong Kong in October 2019, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of HKD 5,000.00 – 8,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for HKD 2,805.00 (€ 320.61). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by George Chann achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A Peach Blossom Garden in April 2017 with an auction result of HKD 4,130,000.00 (€ 487,487.84).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Hong Kong Landscape von George Chann im Oktober 2019 bei Bonhams in Hong Kong versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von HKD 5.000,00 – 8.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für HKD 2.805,00 (€ 320,61) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von George Chann erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit A Peach Blossom Garden im April 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 4.130.000,00 (€ 487.487,84).
