Auction result well in line with expectations
In December 2020 Christies in Hong Kong held the auction Modern and Contemporary Art Afternoon Session, which included the work Hong Kong Harbour by George Chann. The price achieved of HKD 40,000.00 (€ 4,219.13) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as HKD 30,000.00 – 50,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by George Chann achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A Peach Blossom Garden in April 2017 with an auction result of HKD 4,130,000.00 (€ 487,487.84).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Dezember 2020 führte Christies in Hong Kong die Auktion Modern and Contemporary Art Afternoon Session durch, in der auch die Arbeit Hong Kong Harbour von George Chann zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von HKD 40.000,00 (€ 4.219,13) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit HKD 30.000,00 – 50.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von George Chann erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit A Peach Blossom Garden im April 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 4.130.000,00 (€ 487.487,84).
