Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Diversification Of Calligraphy by George Chann was sold in the Chinese and Asian Modern and Contemporary Art auction at POLY in Hong Kong in April 2017. The price achieved of HKD 1,770,000.00 (€ 208,923.36) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as HKD 1,500,000.00 – 2,000,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by George Chann - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A Peach Blossom Garden, which sold at auction in April 2017 for HKD 4,130,000.00 (€ 487,487.84).

Die Arbeit Diversification Of Calligraphy von George Chann wurde im April 2017 in der Auktion Chinese and Asian Modern and Contemporary Art bei POLY in Hong Kong versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von HKD 1.770.000,00 (€ 208.923,36) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit HKD 1.500.000,00 – 2.000.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von George Chann mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit A Peach Blossom Garden beobachtet, die im April 2017 für HKD 4.130.000,00 (€ 487.487,84) versteigert wurde.
