Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Play Of Shapes No.1 by George Campbell was sold in the Modern and Contemporary Irish Art auction at Sothebys in London in October 2007. The price achieved of GBP 6,875.00 (€ 9,872.95) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 6,000.00 – 8,000.00. Admittedly, works by George Campbell have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Evening In Connemara in May 2007 with an auction result of GBP 50,400.00 (€ 74,167.01).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Play Of Shapes No.1 von George Campbell wurde im Oktober 2007 in der Auktion Modern and Contemporary Irish Art bei Sothebys in London versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 6.875,00 (€ 9.872,95) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 6.000,00 – 8.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von George Campbell auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Evening In Connemara im Mai 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 50.400,00 (€ 74.167,01).
