Auction result well in line with expectations
In May 2012 Sothebys in London held the auction British & Irish Art, which included the work Night Shapes by George Campbell. The price achieved of GBP 6,000.00 (€ 7,475.74) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 5,000.00 – 7,000.00. Admittedly, works by George Campbell have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Evening In Connemara in May 2007 with an auction result of GBP 50,400.00 (€ 74,167.01).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Mai 2012 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion British & Irish Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Night Shapes von George Campbell zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 6.000,00 (€ 7.475,74) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 5.000,00 – 7.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von George Campbell auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Evening In Connemara im Mai 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 50.400,00 (€ 74.167,01).
