Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2018 Sothebys in London held the auction A Living Legacy: Irish Art from the Collection of Brian P. Burns, which included the work Jack B. Yeats, An Impression by George Campbell. The price achieved of GBP 23,750.00 (€ 26,789.28) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 20,000.00 – 30,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by George Campbell - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Evening In Connemara, which sold at auction in May 2007 for GBP 50,400.00 (€ 74,167.01).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im November 2018 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion A Living Legacy: Irish Art from the Collection of Brian P. Burns durch, in der auch die Arbeit Jack B. Yeats, An Impression von George Campbell zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 23.750,00 (€ 26.789,28) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 20.000,00 – 30.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von George Campbell mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Evening In Connemara beobachtet, die im Mai 2007 für GBP 50.400,00 (€ 74.167,01) versteigert wurde.
