Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Portrait Of Maurice Prendergast by George Benjamin Luks was sold in the American Art, Including the Collection of George S. Parker II from the Caxambas Foundation auction at Sothebys in New York in October 2016. The »bidding war« ended at USD 30,000.00 (€ 27,367.27), 20% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by George Benjamin Luks achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Lily Williams in May 2010 with an auction result of USD 1,874,500.00 (€ 1,515,482.25).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Portrait Of Maurice Prendergast von George Benjamin Luks wurde im Oktober 2016 in der Auktion American Art, Including the Collection of George S. Parker II from the Caxambas Foundation bei Sothebys in New York versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 30.000,00 (€ 27.367,27) und damit 20% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von George Benjamin Luks erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Lily Williams im Mai 2010 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 1.874.500,00 (€ 1.515.482,25).
