In May 2006 Christies in London held the auction British and Continental Pictures and Prints, which included the work The Ambush by George Armfield. The result of GBP 600.00 (€ 875.80) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 600.00 – 1,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by George Armfield achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work British A Fox Stalking Three Rabbits in December 2008 with an auction result of USD 22,500.00 (€ 16,164.95).

Im Mai 2006 führte Christies in London die Auktion British and Continental Pictures and Prints durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Ambush von George Armfield zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von GBP 600,00 (€ 875,80) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 600,00 – 1.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von George Armfield erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit British A Fox Stalking Three Rabbits im Dezember 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 22.500,00 (€ 16.164,95).
