Auction result well in line with expectations
In October 2020 Sothebys in New York held the auction European Paintings, Drawings & Sculptures, which included the work Attentive Friends by George Armfield. The price achieved of USD 2,520.00 (€ 2,163.65) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 2,000.00 – 3,000.00. Admittedly, works by George Armfield have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work British A Fox Stalking Three Rabbits in December 2008 with an auction result of USD 22,500.00 (€ 16,164.95).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Oktober 2020 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion European Paintings, Drawings & Sculptures durch, in der auch die Arbeit Attentive Friends von George Armfield zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 2.520,00 (€ 2.163,65) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 2.000,00 – 3.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von George Armfield auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit British A Fox Stalking Three Rabbits im Dezember 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 22.500,00 (€ 16.164,95).
