Auction result misses estimated price range
In November 2014 a collector was able to acquire the work British The Bride'S Burial by George Adolphus Storey for USD 40,625.00 (€ 32,662.00). This price was achieved in the auction 19th Century European Art at Sothebys in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 50,000.00 – 70,000.00 set by the auction house. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by George Adolphus Storey - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Orphans, which sold at auction in February 2003 for GBP 71,700.00 (€ 104,679.74).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im November 2014 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit British The Bride'S Burial von George Adolphus Storey für USD 40.625,00 (€ 32.662,00) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion 19th Century European Art bei Sothebys in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 50.000,00 – 70.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von George Adolphus Storey mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Orphans beobachtet, die im Februar 2003 für GBP 71.700,00 (€ 104.679,74) versteigert wurde.
