Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Daughter Of The Regiment by George Adolphus Storey was sold in the British & Continental Pictures including Greek Art auction at Sothebys in Olympia in May 2007. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 1,500.00 – 2,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 1,560.00 (€ 2,295.65) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by George Adolphus Storey achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Orphans in February 2003 with an auction result of GBP 71,700.00 (€ 104,679.74).
