The »bidding war« ended at GBP 2,937.50 (€ 4,802.04), 47% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by George Adolphus Storey achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Orphans in February 2003 with an auction result of GBP 71,700.00 (€ 104,679.74).
