Auction result well in line with expectations
In July this year Bonhams held the auction Post-War & Contemporary Art Online, which included this untitled work by Geoffrey Mukasa. The price achieved of USD 5,120.00 (€ 4,646.10) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Geoffrey Mukasa - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Fisherwoman, which sold at auction in March 2021 for GBP 12,112.50 (€ 14,229.07).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juli diesen Jahres führte Bonhams die Auktion Post-War & Contemporary Art Online durch, in der auch diese Arbeit ohne Titel von Geoffrey Mukasa zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 5.120,00 (€ 4.646,10) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 4.000,00 – 6.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Geoffrey Mukasa mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Fisherwoman beobachtet, die im März 2021 für GBP 12.112,50 (€ 14.229,07) versteigert wurde.
