Auction result well in line with expectations
In August last year Bonhams in London held the auction Modern & Contemporary African Art Online, which included the work Jeune Fille by Geoffrey Mukasa. The price achieved of GBP 3,570.00 (€ 4,131.13) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Geoffrey Mukasa - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Fisherwoman, which sold at auction in March 2021 for GBP 12,112.50 (€ 14,229.07).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im August letzten Jahres führte Bonhams in London die Auktion Modern & Contemporary African Art Online durch, in der auch die Arbeit Jeune Fille von Geoffrey Mukasa zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 3.570,00 (€ 4.131,13) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Geoffrey Mukasa mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Fisherwoman beobachtet, die im März 2021 für GBP 12.112,50 (€ 14.229,07) versteigert wurde.
