Auction result well in line with expectations
In June 2012 Phillips in London held the auction Contemporary Art Day Sale, which included the work So Long Ago by Gedi Sibony. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 10,000.00 – 15,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 11,250.00 (€ 13,930.18) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Gedi Sibony - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Stumble Riser, which sold at auction in December last year for USD 47,880.00 (€ 44,756.03).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juni 2012 führte Phillips in London die Auktion Contemporary Art Day Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit So Long Ago von Gedi Sibony zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 10.000,00 – 15.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 11.250,00 (€ 13.930,18) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Gedi Sibony mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Stumble Riser beobachtet, die im Dezember letzten Jahres für USD 47.880,00 (€ 44.756,03) versteigert wurde.
