Artwork auctioned at four times the upper estimate price
When the work Running-Cursive Script Calligraphy by Gao Fenghan was auctioned at Christies in Hong Kong in May 2018, the result exceeded expectations many times over. The upper estimate was set at a - in retrospect quite modest - HKD 200,000.00 but the actual price achieved was more than four times as high at HKD 812,500.00 (€ 88,769.28). Admittedly, works by Gao Fenghan have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Album Of Peonies in November 2016 with an auction result of HKD 6,015,000.00 (€ 732,967.95).
Kunstwerk zum Vierfachen des oberen Schätzpreises versteigert
Als die Arbeit Running-Cursive Script Calligraphy von Gao Fenghan im Mai 2018 bei Christies in Hong Kong versteigert wurde, übertraf das Ergebnis die Erwartungen um ein Vielfaches. Der obere Schätzpreis war mit – rückwirkend betrachtet recht bescheidenen – HKD 200.000,00 angesetzt, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis hingegen war mit HKD 812.500,00 (€ 88.769,28) mehr als viermal so hoch. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Gao Fenghan auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Album Of Peonies im November 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 6.015.000,00 (€ 732.967,95).
