This artwork by Frederick H. Evans achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in London in May 2014. In the Photographs auction, the work 'Poplars On A French River', C. 1900 sold for GBP 16,250.00 (€ 19,971.77) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 8,000.00. Admittedly, works by Frederick H. Evans have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work 'A Sea Of Steps', Wells Cathedral, Steps To Chapter House, 1903 in October 2013 with an auction result of USD 233,000.00 (€ 171,399.15).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Frederick H. Evans erzielte im Mai 2014 bei Sothebys in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Photographs wurde die Arbeit 'Poplars On A French River', C. 1900 für GBP 16.250,00 (€ 19.971,77) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 8.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Frederick H. Evans auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit 'A Sea Of Steps', Wells Cathedral, Steps To Chapter House, 1903 im Oktober 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 233.000,00 (€ 171.399,15).
