Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Double Portrait of Aubrey Beardsley, 1894 by Frederick H. Evans was auctioned at Christies in New York in October 2017. The price achieved of USD 37,500.00 (€ 32,194.37) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 30,000.00 – 50,000.00. Admittedly, works by Frederick H. Evans have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work 'A Sea Of Steps', Wells Cathedral, Steps To Chapter House, 1903 in October 2013 with an auction result of USD 233,000.00 (€ 171,399.15).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Double Portrait of Aubrey Beardsley, 1894 von Frederick H. Evans kam im Oktober 2017 bei Christies in New York zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 37.500,00 (€ 32.194,37) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 30.000,00 – 50.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Frederick H. Evans auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit 'A Sea Of Steps', Wells Cathedral, Steps To Chapter House, 1903 im Oktober 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 233.000,00 (€ 171.399,15).
