Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Fred Sandback achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in London in March last year. In the Modern & Contemporary Day Auction auction, the work Untitled (Vertical Corner Piece) sold for GBP 201,600.00 (€ 239,019.49) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 100,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Fred Sandback - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Broadway Boogie Woogie (Sculptural Study, Twenty-two part Vertical Construction), which sold at auction in May 2015 for USD 545,000.00 (€ 495,724.94).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Fred Sandback erzielte im März letzten Jahres bei Sothebys in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Modern & Contemporary Day Auction wurde die Arbeit Untitled (Vertical Corner Piece) für GBP 201.600,00 (€ 239.019,49) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 100.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Fred Sandback mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Broadway Boogie Woogie (Sculptural Study, Twenty-two part Vertical Construction) beobachtet, die im Mai 2015 für USD 545.000,00 (€ 495.724,94) versteigert wurde.
