In July 2005 Christies in London held the auction British and Continental Pictures, which included the work Hens and a pigeon in a landscape by François van Severdonck. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 1,020.00 (€ 1,479.50), 28% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by François van Severdonck have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Sheep And Poultry Resting In The Pasture in April 2008 with an auction result of EUR 9,250.00.
Oberer Schätzpreis um 28 % übertroffen
Im Juli 2005 führte Christies in London die Auktion British and Continental Pictures durch, in der auch die Arbeit Hens and a pigeon in a landscape von François van Severdonck zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 1.020,00 (€ 1.479,50) und damit 28% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von François van Severdonck auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Sheep And Poultry Resting In The Pasture im April 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 9.250,00.
