Auction result misses estimated price range
In May 2004 a collector was able to acquire the work Whitby Harbour, 1880 by Frank Meadow Sutcliffe for GBP 717.00 (€ 1,075.76). This price was achieved in the auction PHOTOGRAPHS at Christies in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 800.00 – 1,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Frank Meadow Sutcliffe achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Scenes of Whitby, 1880S in November 2006 with an auction result of GBP 8,400.00 (€ 12,474.26).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Mai 2004 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Whitby Harbour, 1880 von Frank Meadow Sutcliffe für GBP 717,00 (€ 1.075,76) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion PHOTOGRAPHS bei Christies in London erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 800,00 – 1.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Frank Meadow Sutcliffe erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Scenes of Whitby, 1880S im November 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 8.400,00 (€ 12.474,26).
