Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The Dock End, Whitby, 1880 by Frank Meadow Sutcliffe was sold in the PHOTOGRAPHS auction at Christies in London in May 2004. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 2,500.00 – 3,500.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 2,629.00 (€ 3,944.47) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Frank Meadow Sutcliffe - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Scenes of Whitby, 1880S, which sold at auction in November 2006 for GBP 8,400.00 (€ 12,474.26).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit The Dock End, Whitby, 1880 von Frank Meadow Sutcliffe wurde im Mai 2004 in der Auktion PHOTOGRAPHS bei Christies in London versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 2.500,00 – 3.500,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 2.629,00 (€ 3.944,47) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen.
