Auction result misses estimated price range
In April 2001 a collector was able to acquire the work Selected images of Whitby Harbour by Frank Meadow Sutcliffe for USD 2,115.00 (€ 2,383.37). This price was achieved in the auction Photographs at Christies in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 3,000.00 – 5,000.00 set by the auction house. Admittedly, works by Frank Meadow Sutcliffe have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Scenes of Whitby, 1880S in November 2006 with an auction result of GBP 8,400.00 (€ 12,474.26).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im April 2001 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Selected images of Whitby Harbour von Frank Meadow Sutcliffe für USD 2.115,00 (€ 2.383,37) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Photographs bei Christies in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 3.000,00 – 5.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Frank Meadow Sutcliffe auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Scenes of Whitby, 1880S im November 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 8.400,00 (€ 12.474,26).
