Auction result misses estimated price range
In May 2019 a collector was able to acquire the work Emerald Pool Near Glen House, New Hampshire by Frank Henry Shapleigh for USD 6,875.00 (€ 6,166.47). This price was achieved in the auction American Art Online at Christies in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 7,000.00 – 10,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Frank Henry Shapleigh achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Old Sanchez House, St. Augustine, Florida in March 2008 with an auction result of USD 103,000.00 (€ 65,169.25).
