This artwork by Frank Henry Shapleigh achieved an unexpectedly high price at Bonhams in Skinner Marlborough, Massachusetts in September last year. In the American Works of Art auction, the work The Bridge at Winter Park Florida sold for USD 35,655.00 (€ 36,445.88) - well above the upper estimate of USD 12,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Frank Henry Shapleigh; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot The Old Sanchez House, St. Augustine, Florida sold at auction in March 2008 with the realized price of USD 103,000.00 (€ 65,169.25).
