Auction result misses estimated price range
In April 2018 a collector was able to acquire the work “Snake" lamp by Frank Gehry for USD 3,250.00 (€ 2,691.73). This price was achieved in the auction Editions & Works on Paper at Phillips in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 5,000.00 – 7,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Frank Gehry achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Fish Lamp in November 2021 with an auction result of USD 239,400.00 (€ 212,102.42).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im April 2018 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit “Snake" lamp von Frank Gehry für USD 3.250,00 (€ 2.691,73) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Editions & Works on Paper bei Phillips in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 5.000,00 – 7.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Frank Gehry erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Fish Lamp im November 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 239.400,00 (€ 212.102,42).
