Auction result well in line with expectations

The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 250,000.00 – 350,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 262,500.00 (€ 265,661.37) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Frank Cadogan Cowper - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Our Lady of the Fruits of the Earth, which sold at auction in December 2011 for GBP 469,250.00 (€ 561,993.16).
