Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Titania Sleeps, A Midsummer Night's Dream by Frank Cadogan Cowper was auctioned at Christies in New York in October 2002. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 250,000.00 – 350,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 262,500.00 (€ 265,661.37) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Frank Cadogan Cowper - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Our Lady of the Fruits of the Earth, which sold at auction in December 2011 for GBP 469,250.00 (€ 561,993.16).

Die Arbeit Titania Sleeps, A Midsummer Night's Dream von Frank Cadogan Cowper kam im Oktober 2002 bei Christies in New York zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 250.000,00 – 350.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 262.500,00 (€ 265.661,37) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen.
