Sold at the upper estimate price
In November 2019 Christies in London held the auction Modern | British Art, which included the work Birds 'n Bees 'n Fishes Too by Frank Bowling. The auction ended at the price of GBP 35,000.00 (€ 41,098.56), which exactly corresponded to the upper end of the estimated price range of GBP 25,000.00 – 35,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Frank Bowling achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Beggar No. 3 in June 2019 with an auction result of GBP 695,250.00 (€ 781,564.11).
Zuschlag beim oberen Schätzpreis
Im November 2019 führte Christies in London die Auktion Modern | British Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Birds 'n Bees 'n Fishes Too von Frank Bowling zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von GBP 35.000,00 (€ 41.098,56) entsprach exakt dem oberen Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 25.000,00 – 35.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Frank Bowling erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Beggar No. 3 im Juni 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 695.250,00 (€ 781.564,11).
