The work Working Drawing for the Mornington Crescent Paintings by Frank Auerbach was sold in the Post-War & Contemporary Art auction at Bonhams in London in October last year. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 8,925.00 (€ 10,397.53), 49% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Frank Auerbach achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Head of Gerda Boehm in June last year with an auction result of GBP 4,149,000.00 (€ 4,819,957.78).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 49 % übertroffen
Die Arbeit Working Drawing for the Mornington Crescent Paintings von Frank Auerbach wurde im Oktober letzten Jahres in der Auktion Post-War & Contemporary Art bei Bonhams in London versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 8.925,00 (€ 10.397,53) und damit 49% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Frank Auerbach erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Head of Gerda Boehm im Juni letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 4.149.000,00 (€ 4.819.957,78).
