Upper estimate price exceeded by 40 %.
In October this year Bonhams in London held the auction Post-War & Contemporary Art, which included the work J.Y.M. Seated by Frank Auerbach. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 209,950.00 (€ 241,080.93), 40% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Frank Auerbach achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Head of Gerda Boehm in June last year with an auction result of GBP 4,149,000.00 (€ 4,819,957.78).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 40 % übertroffen
Im Oktober diesen Jahres führte Bonhams in London die Auktion Post-War & Contemporary Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit J.Y.M. Seated von Frank Auerbach zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 209.950,00 (€ 241.080,93) und damit 40% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Frank Auerbach erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Head of Gerda Boehm im Juni letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 4.149.000,00 (€ 4.819.957,78).
