The work Head of Julia by Frank Auerbach was sold in the Pictures and Prints Online auction at Bonhams in March this year. It achieved a price of GBP 3,187.50 (€ 3,626.40), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 59%. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Frank Auerbach achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Head of Gerda Boehm in June last year with an auction result of GBP 4,149,000.00 (€ 4,819,957.78).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 59 % übertroffen
Die Arbeit Head of Julia von Frank Auerbach wurde im März diesen Jahres in der Auktion Pictures and Prints Online bei Bonhams versteigert. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von GBP 3.187,50 (€ 3.626,40) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 59%. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Frank Auerbach erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Head of Gerda Boehm im Juni letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 4.149.000,00 (€ 4.819.957,78).
