Auction result well in line with expectations
In June this year Christies in London held the auction 20th/21st Century: London Evening Sale, which included the work Reclining Figure I by Frank Auerbach. The price achieved of GBP 529,200.00 (€ 615,897.69) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 400,000.00 – 600,000.00. Admittedly, works by Frank Auerbach have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Head of Gerda Boehm in June last year with an auction result of GBP 4,149,000.00 (€ 4,819,957.78).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juni diesen Jahres führte Christies in London die Auktion 20th/21st Century: London Evening Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Reclining Figure I von Frank Auerbach zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 529.200,00 (€ 615.897,69) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 400.000,00 – 600.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Frank Auerbach auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Head of Gerda Boehm im Juni letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 4.149.000,00 (€ 4.819.957,78).
