Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work J.Y.M. Seated V by Frank Auerbach was auctioned at Bonhams in March this year. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 600,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 642,900.00 (€ 731,422.93). Admittedly, works by Frank Auerbach have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Head of Gerda Boehm in June last year with an auction result of GBP 4,149,000.00 (€ 4,819,957.78).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit J.Y.M. Seated V von Frank Auerbach kam im März diesen Jahres bei Bonhams zur Auktion. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 600.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 642.900,00 (€ 731.422,93) einen neuen Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Frank Auerbach auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Head of Gerda Boehm im Juni letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 4.149.000,00 (€ 4.819.957,78).
