Auction result misses estimated price range
In July last year a collector was able to acquire the work Head of Jake by Frank Auerbach for GBP 200,000.00 (€ 238,835.52). This price was achieved in the auction Post-War and Contemporary Art Day Sale, London at Christies in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 250,000.00 – 350,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Frank Auerbach achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Head of Gerda Boehm in June last year with an auction result of GBP 4,149,000.00 (€ 4,819,957.78).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Juli letzten Jahres konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Head of Jake von Frank Auerbach für GBP 200.000,00 (€ 238.835,52) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Post-War and Contemporary Art Day Sale, London bei Christies in London erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 250.000,00 – 350.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Frank Auerbach erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Head of Gerda Boehm im Juni letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 4.149.000,00 (€ 4.819.957,78).
