Auction result well in line with expectations
In December 2017 Christies in London held the auction Victorian Pre-Raphaelite & British Impressionist Art, which included the work ‘Ready For Inspection’: The Brand New East Indiaman Dutton Lying In The Thames At Deptford In The Autumn Of 1781 As Her Owner, Mr Henry Rice, And His Party Prepare To Board And Inspect Her In Advance Of Her Maiden Voyage by Francis Holman. The price achieved of GBP 8,125.00 (€ 9,143.50) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 7,000.00 – 10,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Francis Holman achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A view of Blackwell Yard from the Thames in December 2018 with an auction result of GBP 137,500.00 (€ 153,187.19).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Dezember 2017 führte Christies in London die Auktion Victorian Pre-Raphaelite & British Impressionist Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit ‘Ready For Inspection’: The Brand New East Indiaman Dutton Lying In The Thames At Deptford In The Autumn Of 1781 As Her Owner, Mr Henry Rice, And His Party Prepare To Board And Inspect Her In Advance Of Her Maiden Voyage von Francis Holman zur Versteigerung kam.
