Auction result misses estimated price range
In November 2018 a collector was able to acquire the work The three-masted merchantman Ann Black in two positions off the South Foreland, inbound for London, with Dover Castle off her stern by Francis Holman for GBP 5,000.00 (€ 5,639.85). This price was achieved in the auction Annabel's at Christies in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 8,000.00 – 12,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Francis Holman achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A view of Blackwell Yard from the Thames in December 2018 with an auction result of GBP 137,500.00 (€ 153,187.19).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im November 2018 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit The three-masted merchantman Ann Black in two positions off the South Foreland, inbound for London, with Dover Castle off her stern von Francis Holman für GBP 5.000,00 (€ 5.639,85) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Annabel's bei Christies in London erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 8.000,00 – 12.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Francis Holman erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit A view of Blackwell Yard from the Thames im Dezember 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 137.500,00 (€ 153.187,19).
