Auction result well in line with expectations
In October last year Bonhams in London held the auction The Marine Sale, which included the work The merchant brigantine Success of London in two positions off the North Foreland of Kent by Francis Holman. The price achieved of GBP 9,562.50 (€ 11,140.21) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 8,000.00 – 12,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Francis Holman achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A view of Blackwell Yard from the Thames in December 2018 with an auction result of GBP 137,500.00 (€ 153,187.19).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Oktober letzten Jahres führte Bonhams in London die Auktion The Marine Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit The merchant brigantine Success of London in two positions off the North Foreland of Kent von Francis Holman zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 9.562,50 (€ 11.140,21) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 8.000,00 – 12.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Francis Holman erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit A view of Blackwell Yard from the Thames im Dezember 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 137.500,00 (€ 153.187,19).
