Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2010 Sothebys in London held the auction The Robert Devereux Collection of Post-War British Art in aid of the African Arts Trust, Sale 3, which included the work Yellow, Blue, Grey & Black by Francis Davison. The price achieved of GBP 2,375.00 (€ 2,838.12) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Francis Davison - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Untitled 9-9 (Fawn, White, Red And Green), which sold at auction in November 2010 for GBP 8,125.00 (€ 9,709.36).
