Auction result well in line with expectations
In March 2018 Sothebys in London held the auction Made in Britain, which included the work Bright Yellow & White With Black & Brown by Francis Davison. It changed hands for a price of GBP 2,750.00 (€ 3,131.03) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Francis Davison - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Untitled 9-9 (Fawn, White, Red And Green), which sold at auction in November 2010 for GBP 8,125.00 (€ 9,709.36).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im März 2018 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Made in Britain durch, in der auch die Arbeit Bright Yellow & White With Black & Brown von Francis Davison zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 2.750,00 (€ 3.131,03) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 2.000,00 – 3.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Francis Davison mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Untitled 9-9 (Fawn, White, Red And Green) beobachtet, die im November 2010 für GBP 8.125,00 (€ 9.709,36) versteigert wurde.
