Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Boats At Sea by Francis Davison was auctioned at Sothebys in London in March 2018. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 3,500.00 (€ 3,984.94) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Francis Davison - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Untitled 9-9 (Fawn, White, Red And Green), which sold at auction in November 2010 for GBP 8,125.00 (€ 9,709.36).
