The »bidding war« ended at GBP 5,250.00 (€ 6,273.74), 50% above the upper estimate. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Francis Davison; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Untitled 9-9 (Fawn, White, Red And Green) sold at auction in November 2010 with the realized price of GBP 8,125.00 (€ 9,709.36).
