In May 2021 Christies in Paris held the auction Collection Marion Lambert, which included the work Untitled From 'Angle’S' Series, Rome, 1977-1978 by Francesca Woodman. The »bidding war« ended at EUR 37,500.00 25% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Francesca Woodman have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Polka Dots in October 2019 with an auction result of USD 200,000.00 (€ 179,291.80).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 25 % übertroffen
Im Mai 2021 führte Christies in Paris die Auktion Collection Marion Lambert durch, in der auch die Arbeit Untitled From 'Angle’S' Series, Rome, 1977-1978 von Francesca Woodman zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von EUR 37.500,00 und damit 25% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Francesca Woodman auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Polka Dots im Oktober 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 200.000,00 (€ 179.291,80).
