Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Francesca Woodman achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Paris in May 2021. In the Collection Marion Lambert auction, the work M. 472, Mac Dowell Colony, Peterborough, New Hampshire, 1979-1980 sold for EUR 93,750.00 - well above the upper estimate of EUR 40,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Francesca Woodman; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Polka Dots sold at auction in October 2019 with the realized price of USD 200,000.00 (€ 179,291.80).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Francesca Woodman erzielte im Mai 2021 bei Christies in Paris einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Collection Marion Lambert wurde die Arbeit M. 472, Mac Dowell Colony, Peterborough, New Hampshire, 1979-1980 für EUR 93.750,00 versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von EUR 40.000,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Francesca Woodman; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Polka Dots im Oktober 2019 mit dem Hammerpreis von USD 200.000,00 (€ 179.291,80).
