Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Moses and the Brazen Serpent by Ford Madox Brown was auctioned at Christies in London in July 2021. It achieved a price of GBP 30,000.00 (€ 35,181.22), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 20%. Admittedly, works by Ford Madox Brown have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Last Of England in November 2004 with an auction result of GBP 206,850.00 (€ 297,552.61).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Moses and the Brazen Serpent von Ford Madox Brown kam im Juli 2021 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von GBP 30.000,00 (€ 35.181,22) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 20%. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Ford Madox Brown auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Last Of England im November 2004 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 206.850,00 (€ 297.552,61).
