Auction result well in line with expectations
In July last year Sothebys in London held the auction European & British Art, Part I, which included the work Cordelia at the Bedside of Lear by Ford Madox Brown. The price achieved of GBP 25,200.00 (€ 30,093.28) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 20,000.00 – 30,000.00. Admittedly, works by Ford Madox Brown have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Last Of England in November 2004 with an auction result of GBP 206,850.00 (€ 297,552.61).
