Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The Supper At Emmaus 'And How It Was Known Of Them By Breaking Of Bread' by Ford Madox Brown was sold in the British & Irish Art auction at Sothebys in London in November 2012. The price achieved of GBP 46,850.00 (€ 57,714.45) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 40,000.00 – 60,000.00. Admittedly, works by Ford Madox Brown have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Last Of England in November 2004 with an auction result of GBP 206,850.00 (€ 297,552.61).
