Upper estimate price exceeded by 49 %.
The work A still life of copper pans and utensils on a stone ledge with plums by Floris van Schooten was sold in the Old Master Paintings auction at Bonhams in London in April last year. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 8,925.00 (€ 10,642.75), 49% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Floris van Schooten achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Pewter plates with opened oysters, two mackerel, a bun, oyster shells, a bag of tobacco, matches, a white clay pipe, a berkemeier of white wine, a red earthenware brazier with embers and a pewter oval tobacco tin on a wooden table in May 2004 with an auction result of EUR 162,250.00.

Die Arbeit A still life of copper pans and utensils on a stone ledge with plums von Floris van Schooten wurde im April letzten Jahres in der Auktion Old Master Paintings bei Bonhams in London versteigert. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Pewter plates with opened oysters, two mackerel, a bun, oyster shells, a bag of tobacco, matches, a white clay pipe, a berkemeier of white wine, a red earthenware brazier with embers and a pewter oval tobacco tin on a wooden table im Mai 2004 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 162.250,00.
