Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Copper and brass pans with other utensils on a ledge by Floris van Schooten was sold in the Old Masters Day Sale auction at Christies in London in July 2018. The price achieved of GBP 30,000.00 (€ 33,636.60) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 25,000.00 – 35,000.00. Admittedly, works by Floris van Schooten have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Pewter plates with opened oysters, two mackerel, a bun, oyster shells, a bag of tobacco, matches, a white clay pipe, a berkemeier of white wine, a red earthenware brazier with embers and a pewter oval tobacco tin on a wooden table in May 2004 with an auction result of EUR 162,250.00.
